Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch cake pan.

  4. In another bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, honey, eggs, yogurt, and vanilla until smooth.

  6. Pour batter into pan, top with reserved apples and almonds. Bake 40–45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack. Optional: dust with powdered sugar.
